1. Article Processing Charge Policy
The International Journal of Applied Smart Interdisciplinary Technologies (IJASIT) follows a transparent Article Processing Charge (APC) policy.
There is no submission fee and no peer-review fee. Manuscripts are evaluated through the journal's editorial and peer-review process independently of any APC payment.
An APC is applicable only after a manuscript has been accepted for publication.
Editorial decisions are not influenced by the author's ability or willingness to pay publication charges. This separation of editorial decisions and fees is consistent with established transparency principles for scholarly publishing.
2. APC Schedule

APC-Free Submission Period
Manuscripts submitted on or before August 31, 2026 are eligible for publication without APC, provided that the manuscript successfully completes the editorial and peer-review process and is subsequently accepted for publication.
The applicable APC is determined based on the original submission date, not the acceptance or publication date.
3. Charges Not Applicable
IJASIT does not charge authors for:
- Submission
- Initial editorial screening
- Peer review
- Reviewer assignment
- Revision
- Acceptance
- Manuscript formatting
- Article DOI assignment
- Online publication
- Author certificate
- Colour figures
- Additional online supplementary material
No hidden publication charges will be introduced after acceptance.
Any future change to the journal's fee structure will be clearly announced on this page before it becomes applicable. Transparency of all author charges is recommended by DOAJ and COPE.
4. When is the APC Payable?
The APC is payable only after formal acceptance of the manuscript.
Authors should not make any payment before receiving an official APC invoice/payment request from the IJASIT Editorial Office.
Acceptance of a manuscript does not depend on advance payment.
The payment request will normally contain:
- Article title
- Manuscript/Submission ID
- Author details
- Applicable APC amount
- Currency
- Payment instructions
- Payment deadline
- Official journal contact details
5. What Does the APC Cover?
The APC supports the operational costs associated with scholarly publication, including:
- Editorial administration
- Journal website and online publishing infrastructure
- Manuscript production and publication
- Metadata management
- DOI-related publishing infrastructure
- Article hosting and long-term online availability
- Administrative and technical maintenance of the journal
The APC is a publication charge and does not constitute a payment for acceptance or peer-review outcome.
6. Waiver and Discount Policy
Authors who are unable to pay the applicable APC may contact the Editorial Office to request a partial or full APC waiver or discount.
Waiver requests should preferably be submitted:
- At the time of submission, or
- Before acceptance and before the APC invoice is issued.
Each request may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
A request for an APC waiver or discount will not influence the editorial or peer-review decision. COPE recommends that waiver decisions remain separate from decisions concerning the quality, suitability, and acceptability of manuscripts.
Waiver Request
Authors should provide:
- Manuscript/Submission ID
- Article title
- Corresponding author's name
- Institutional affiliation
- Reason for requesting a waiver
- Any relevant supporting information
Requests should be sent to:
editor@ijasit.org
7. Refund Policy
IJASIT follows the following refund policy:
Before Acceptance
Since the APC is not charged before acceptance, there is normally no APC payment to refund.
After Acceptance but Before Publication
If an APC has already been paid and the article is subsequently withdrawn by the journal for an editorial or publication-related reason attributable to the journal, the journal may provide a full or appropriate refund, subject to the circumstances.
Author-Initiated Withdrawal
If an author requests withdrawal after acceptance and after APC payment, the refund will be considered on a case-by-case basis, taking into account whether publication-production work or other non-recoverable costs have already been incurred.
After Publication
Once an article has been formally published online, the APC is normally non-refundable, because publication and associated services have already been provided.
However, if an exceptional circumstance is identified, the Editorial Office may review the matter individually.
Duplicate or Excess Payment
If an author accidentally makes a duplicate payment or pays an amount greater than the applicable APC, the excess amount may be refunded after verification.
The author should contact:
editor@ijasit.org
with the payment receipt and relevant manuscript details.
8. Withdrawal Charges
IJASIT does not charge a withdrawal fee for manuscripts withdrawn during the normal editorial/review process, provided that the withdrawal request is made in accordance with the journal's withdrawal policy.
If an article has already been accepted and substantial production work has been completed, any financial consequences of withdrawal will be communicated to the author before action is taken.
Any withdrawal-related charge, if introduced, will not exceed the applicable author charge and will be clearly disclosed. This approach is aligned with DOAJ's stated requirements concerning withdrawal charges.
9. Rejection and APC
If a manuscript is rejected, the author is not required to pay an APC.
APC payment has no influence on the editorial decision.
10. Revision and Resubmission
Authors are not charged an APC for:
- Reviewer revisions
- Minor revisions
- Major revisions
- Editorial corrections
- Resubmission following a decision
If a completely new manuscript is submitted as a new submission, the applicable APC policy will be determined according to its new submission date.
11. Page Limit
The maximum permitted manuscript length is: 20 pages
The 20-page limit includes:
- Main text
- Figures
- Tables
- References
- Appendices, where applicable
Authors should reduce manuscripts exceeding the permitted length before final acceptance/publication processing.
No additional page charge is applied. Authors must nevertheless comply with the maximum 20-page manuscript limit.
12. No Influence on Editorial Decisions
The ability or inability of an author to pay an APC will not influence:
- Editorial screening
- Reviewer selection
- Peer-review process
- Acceptance
- Rejection
- Revision decisions
The editorial decision is based on the journal's academic and editorial criteria.
13. Transparency of Author Charges
IJASIT is committed to maintaining transparent publication practices.
All applicable author charges, including APCs, waiver conditions, and any other fees, will be clearly stated on the journal website. DOAJ specifically requires journals to disclose all fees that may be charged from submission through publication, including submission fees, APCs, page charges, colour charges, and other author charges.
